Refunds & Returns Policy – Le Bon Choix Bakery (Australia)

Our Approach

We bake fresh, perishable products. Because of this, we don’t offer returns or refunds for change of mind, incorrect choice, or failure to collect. Nothing in this Policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. If a product is faulty, unsafe, not of acceptable quality, or does not match its description, you are entitled to a remedy, which may be a replacement, refund or repair, and (for major failures) compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss. The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the issue.

Perishable Products (Pastries, Cakes, Sandwiches, All Food Items)

No change-of-mind refunds or exchanges.

Collection only: You select a collection time at checkout. We prepare your order for that time. We cannot guarantee freshness or quality if the order is not collected on time.

Storage & handling after collection are outside our control; we can’t accept responsibility for quality concerns arising after safe handover.

Reporting an Issue

If there’s a concern with your order, please contact us promptly so we can help.

How to contact: admin@lebonchoixbakery.com.au 

Timeframe: Please contact us as soon as possible after collection (ideally within 2 hours for same-day items, or by close of business on the day of collection).

What to include: Order number, item(s) affected, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos of the product and packaging (where relevant).

We will ask you to return the product to the store or retain it for inspection so we can assess the issue in line with the ACL.

Custom & Special Orders

For custom, personalised, or made-to-order cakes and items:

No cancellations or refunds for change of mind once production has begun.

If a custom item fails to meet the agreed specifications or is faulty under the ACL, we will provide the appropriate remedy.

Allergens, Pips & Seeds (Food Safety)

Please advise us of any allergies when placing your order. While we take great care, our products are made in environments that handle gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, sesame and soy, and may contain traces. For products containing fruit or olives, occasional pips or seeds may remain. See our Food Safety & Allergen notice on each product page for more details.

Sale Items

Sale or promotional items: remedies are provided where required by the ACL; otherwise, no change-of-mind refunds.

Cancellations

Cancellations may be possible with 72 hours notice. Fees may apply to cover costs already incurred (ingredients, labour, scheduling).

If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will contact you to offer a suitable alternative or a full refund.

How Refunds Are Processed (When Approved)

If a refund is approved, it will be processed to your original payment method. Processing times vary by bank. If you haven’t received an approved refund after 10 business days, please contact your bank first, then email us at admin@lebonchoixbakery.com.au.
